Bio
Dr. Susan C. Martin is a career and life coach specializing in supporting women with PhDs and other doctorates to gain clarity, confidence, and momentum in their careers and job transitions. From a successful 30 year career in higher education, she gained extensive experience in career development, coaching, and training. As a Program Director of doctoral career services at the University of Maryland, she worked with first-gen, international, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women and other underrepresented professionals in STEM as well as PhD candidates and postdocs in all disciplines including the Humanities and Public Health. An ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Susan completed advanced training in positive psychology through The Flourishing Center and is currently enrolled in a year-long program focused on women-centered coaching with Dr. Claire Zammit of Evolving Wisdom. She holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from GWU, an M.A. in Counseling from UMD, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from UMass Amherst.
