The Asia Pacific Career Development Association (APCDA) is holding its

2021 (Virtual) Conference - Walking on Unchartered Career Paths

May 19-29, 2021

As part of MCDA's new strategic partnership with APCDA, you are invited to attend this international conference where all presentations will be in English. The audience will consist of delegates from many Asian countries and regions as well as other parts of the world. This conference provides opportunities for networking, sharing among practitioners, and identifying new resources. Breakout sessions will be divided into four tracks:

  • Serving School Populations (K-12)
  • Serving College Students
  • Serving Working or Job Seeking Adults
  • Research on Career Issues

The audience will include career and school counselors, counselor educators, workforce development professionals, human resource professionals, and career development practitioners at all age levels and in all settings (school, college and university, government, business, agency, corrections, and private practice). Delegates are encouraged to bring their own translators.

Keynote Speakers:

Dr. Mark Savickas, author of Career Construction Theory, is professor of Family and Community Medicine at the Northeast Ohio Medical University and Adjunct Professor of Counselor Education at Kent State University. The title of his keynote is Constructing Career Paths: From Finding to Designing a Work Life.




Dr. Norm Amundson, co-author of Hope-Action Theory and Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia. Ms. Andrea Fruhling, Executive Director for the Hope-Action Group and a career and organizational coach and instructor at the University of British Columbia. The title of their keynote is Finding Hope in Liminal Space.
