1 NBCC Credit Hour

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are reevaluating the kind of work they do and where they do it. Some people are looking for more meaning and a return to public service. For others, finding stability and shelter from yet another economic downturn is most appealing. However they get there, for many this means navigating the Federal application process.

This one-hour webinar will walk you through a Federal job search from start to finish, including networking for a Federal job (yes, it does exist) and a 12-month outlook for Federal hiring.

Learning objectives:

  1. Attendees will learn how to navigate USAjobs.gov;
  2. Review main aspects of writing a Federal resume;
  3. Prepare for a Federal interview and understand how a Federal application is scored.

You will walk away with all the tools and confidence to get a resume through the initial screening and conduct interview preparation.

Elle O’Flaherty is a career coach and resume writer specializing in Federal job searches. Leveraging over 15 years of experience as a Federal attorney and hiring manager, Elle brings the unique perspective of having been on both sides of the equation. As a former Federal manager, she loves to teach clients how application packages are scored, how to improve their chances to be certified best qualified, and how to excel in Federal interviews.

Elle is the founder of Interlace Solutions, a boutique career coaching and resume writing firm delivering pragmatic and goal-oriented coaching and resumes written with the kind of platinum-level wordsmithing you would expect from a former litigator. She is entirely too passionate about resume writing to be completely normal.

Elle is a recovering attorney who came to coaching after realizing that more and more colleagues were seeking her advice on their careers and resumes and that it was quickly becoming her favorite part of the job. Elle is a subject matter expert on World Trade Organization litigation with a focus on agricultural trade. She was the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s lead on agricultural trade disputes for nearly a decade and represented the United States before the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations. Elle started her career as a Federal appellate litigator. She received her J.D. from the William & Mary Law School and holds a journalism degree from James Madison University. Elle is currently running a two-student virtual elementary school and would love for this pandemic to come to a quick and safe end.
